Inspiration to share hoops with the world..

   

     http://www.worldhoopday.org , a non-profit organization, is making a real difference in the world and in the lives of children in need.  By donating hoops to kids in 3rd world countries, and helping fund other hoopers to do the same, WorldHoopDay has inspired many lovers of the hoop to take action.         This idea really had a profound effect on me... who could think of something better?!  Sometimes all a child needs is a hoop.   Something so simple can help bring them back to that playful state which may have lost its presence in their lives due to hardships or heightened responsibility in the family. 
 I have been giving away hoops since I started making them.  I have had friends deliver hoops in Argentina, and Mexico, Nepal, South Africa and Nicaragua.  
You can check out my blog for an event I organized with some friends in the Philippines, where we donated over 70 handmade hula hoops, offered workshops and a free Fire show.  Although, locally we have donated hula hoops to local organizations such as women's shelter's, food banks, and women's centres. 

The best part of giving away hoops, whether to local or far off lands, is the reaction you get;  it always brings joy to people's faces, no matter what age!
